Oh, My Racing Heart

 I could feel my heart rate go up after I pressed the "submit" button on the Newburyport Art Association's Juried Art Show for 2013.   (Their building is shown above).  I was going to give it a pass, but when I stopped by with a non-painting artist friend, the curator of a children's exhibit encouraged me to submit a piece or two.  Then at a PEO meeting last night, I met a woman who had been in the gallery to whom I had not been introduced.  SHE encouraged me to enter.

So I paid my fee, went through the most recent paintings (mostly from last year and Texas), re-photographed them, re-named them, and submitted my entry.  The titles are "Fiber Head" and "Back in Kansas."  Who know whether either will be accepted.

There is only one juror... and he is the Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art from the Boston Museum of Fine Art. I am "contemporary" (i.e., living) and it is made from art supplies, so I suppose there's a chance.

In the meantime, back to the studio!
