Glow (Illustration Friday)
After presents and before Christmas dinner, we took a drive. The days ARE actually already noticeably longer (Whether the sun sets at 4:22 or 4:10 DOES make a difference! anyway, by 4:45, the New Hampshire hills, trees, moon (and Jupiter) looked pretty much like this. Perhaps tomorrow night it will all be covered with snow. (I hope to get to some galleries in the meantime, though.)

Illustration Friday: Crooked
Let's just say there have been fits, starts, hiccups and set backs this year. Not all bad, but not all easy or hoped for, either.

Illustration Friday: Imagination
I have often heard a reference to "The Lady and the Tiger." Mistakenly, I thought the question was which one of THOSE survived. But when I thought maybe they would both like to "fly away," I researched the reference. You can find it
here.

Illustration Friday: Shades
Illustration Friday: Shades, a photo by Sultry (packing and on the move) on Flickr.
I don't know how many kinds of shade/shades there are in this image,
but there are as many as I could think of and render.

Illustration Friday: Imperfection, a photo by Sultry on Flickr.
We bought a lathe recently. I am VERY excited about getting started with it. However, if you make certain kinds of errors (cutting tool too dull, at wrong angle, held too loosely) the piece can splinter and spin in every direction. Makes me nervous.
But I guess nothing is perfect. Learning curves. Bowls. Me.
Here's an example from a master.

I'll let you know when I get anything turned!

Hubby and the cat were, at one point, in almost the exact same positions, sleeping in front of the television. When I went to get the camera (to use in Photoshop and thus avoid the risks of a "figurative drawing," the cat followed me. Curiosity! So. I sketched in my sketched pad, once, and then free-hand re-sketched withthe mouse. THEN I fiddled with layers and colors to get the result above.
I'm sure there will be ample opportunities to try again!
