What I am really excited about is the beginning of a painting I can't share because I think it MIGHT turn out well enough to be a gift.
So, instead, I will show you the underpainting for the smallest, most complicated painting I think I've contemplated to date.
The reference photo is one I took at the Rockport Art Association's patio last summer. I liked all the angularity of the white stair risers, bannisters, and window frames, and the contrast with the lush, subtle color variations in the shingles, clapboards and flowers.
Why don't I ever challenge myself?!!
