I woke up at 6:15 one morning and there was the MOST amazing sunrise outside our window. I tried to express it. I prefer the top one. For once I re-did a subject! The good news? I think it was worth re-doing. ... Figuring out the layers and shapes took forever!! Well, not really, but it took a LONG time.
I got the colors just about right... and the leaves were so overtly a pattern... not "just" leaves.
Below is the first attempt.
One thing I realized is that there was NO WAY the sun could be this high and still have these colors. D'oh!

I like the second version best. Very lovely.
Chaotic fractals in nature make such beautiful patterns.
I prefer the first attempt..and dont sweat the sun being too high...its art.
I like the top one a lot also. I think you did a great job making the trees look like a pattern. The black on the sunrise colors looks wonderful
