This is a "layette" for a thoroughly modern (feministMom) baby girl due to arrive soon.
The jacket with bobble buttons is Elizabeth Zimmerman's Surprise Baby Jacket, to which I added fringe along the increase lines. Accompanying it is a pair of baby slippers (soon to also have bobbles, or maybe faux laces out of I-cord) from the re-issued Baby Bootees Book and a Nice Baby Jester's Hat from Knitting.about.com. The yarn is Cascade Colorspun, which was a bit bigger of a gauge than EZ anticipated, so I faithfully did the math to maintain the original size. (And ADDED stitches to get the NBJ's hat right... because it was for bulky yarn.
Washable and worth the effort!
I hope Mom-to-be is impressed and baby feels loved and snuggly.
