We bought a lathe recently. I am VERY excited about getting started with it. However, if you make certain kinds of errors (cutting tool too dull, at wrong angle, held too loosely) the piece can splinter and spin in every direction. Makes me nervous.

But I guess nothing is perfect. Learning curves. Bowls. Me.
