Serious Beginner: Session 2

 

Good Grief.  THIS is the still life from which we'll be doing our 10 weeks of learning to paint like Cezanne.  We could try to sketch all or part of it... horizontally or vertically.

The first sketches were on pieces of gessoed cardboard that were 2 x 2.5 inches.  So they were crude  simple.

 Then we graduated to 8 x 10

 

Another 8 x 10, but not really a total improvement.

  

THEN, to 16 x 10, in chalk on the actual canvas, which had been prepared with a layer of black acrylic paint.

The three of us students each had a slightly different angle, different skills, and different visions.
