IF Excess

My first mother-in-law taught me that major holidays HAD to have pizzelles, Italian waffle cookies with anise flavoring. I made this season's first batch this evening, and by being in a hurry and mis-measuring the sugar, I had to make a DOUBLE batch-- cookies with a dozen eggs and a pound of margerine are definitely in excess.

Please send me a dozen right away so I may test them for quality. ;-)

I think rrramone is a smart man. But you need a woman's input. Send them to me, instead!

Must be a mother-in-law thing because mine taught me the same thing (of course, I'm lucky enough that she still enjoys baking and sharing them so I get all of the pleasure with none of the work- yeah!)

I'm really interested in how you did this piece. I suspect you used actual pizzelles.... ?? It's beautiful!

Holiday cooking and eating is a great idea for "Excess". I love the bold colors and shapes in this piece. Like juj, I am very interested in your process on this one. Also, thank you for your kind welcome to EDM.

In case any of you check back: 1. I think these are TOO FRAGILE to mail. But you are welcome to come to Texas and eat as many as you want. Email me for directions. :-D 2. This piece was developed from a digital macro photograph of real pizzelles (on a non-state-of-the-art camera), then cropped and color-shifed in Photoshop. I had the cookies stacked flat AND on edge in a big Tupperware container, so what looks wonky on the rh side, was really like that!!
