I try to be upbeat.

It has been hard this week. I was told today about another suicide (brother of a friend recently widowed), and a dual traffic fatality (father and 6 year old daughter) in Austin. Two friends of mine are having marital problems severe enough to seek professional help. A lecturer (who was TERRIFIC by the way, told me why she got into the field of Criminology: her boyfriend's whole family was murdered by one of his brother. She went through 4 trials: Guilt/sentencing and retrials of both when the murderer initially got off on a technicality.

But I had an awesome coaching client late this evening. I wasn't looking forward to it because of fatigue/burnout and generally lousy attitude as reported above. But he was really ready to work. And HE wasn't grieving. He was "just" anxious and excited. And he really got a lot out of it.

It is awesome to be helpful.

I still think I might have to recline and either read or watch TV.

Wow. After a week like that I'd probably recline, read, watch TV and eat my weight in cheesecake. Wonderful about the client though; I imagine feeling successful in helping others would help to mitigate the cheesecake craving.
