Finished Object!

I was up late late late finishing the this Baby Surprise Jacket (from Elizabeth Zimmerman's quaint one-piece pattern). I thought about doing matching socks or booties, but I was up WAY past my bedtime and figured this would have to do.

The shower was beautiful. Moms, grand-moms and moms- to- be were all decked out and charming. It was a lovely girl's afternoon in. And the baby jacket got LOTS of oooohs and aahs. Who knew that there were so many ways to make soft fabrics? Or that there were so many kinds of baby-thermometers. There was even an object that I couldn't recognize that all the young mom's said was hot. A pillow on which to rest the baby while nursing. My stomach always worked fine! The nursing Mom on the insert was sitting in Lotus pose while nursing... well, d'oh... then you'd need a pillow! I always sat IN AN ARM CHAIR. Lotus pose, indeed.

In other news:
There goes the trip to Scotland-- or wherever

DH had a building engineer come to look at our house Friday. We'd been noticing various doors shutting by themselves, or hardly shutting at all for over the past year. Sure enough, the house is "settling" And for $5-10K we can keep it from settling more and being difficult (if not impossible) to sell. Ack.

I am trying to look at the good news: We caught it before we sank into a sink hole, or the chimney caved in or whatever else could happen. I shouldn't complain... Neither Katrina nor Rita made a dent here.

But Life is Good. There was even a Life is Good/Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival. On Boston Common, no less. (To learn more about the festival visit: www.lifeisgood.com. To read about the beneficiaries, visit Camp Sunshine's website.

Hooray for a hairline!

That's a nice looking sweater, I wish I could make one.

I liked the stone and egg picture... I'm going to remember the saying.

Be well..
