Well, I figured out one problem!

I was kind of winging it on the self-made Chemo Caps, you know?
Facing an illness with a nasty rep makes it seem prudent to take more risks... And making up my own pattern was one I thought could handle.
Actually, I downloaded a pattern that called for 1 ball of Berrocco Chenille and planned to modify it.
My problem began while I was heading to my second-favorite yarn store with cash in hand. My mind slipped a cog and was thinking Lion Brand. Funny thing... Lion Brand doesn't MAKE Chenille. Go figure.
So I got yarns to combine that looked soft and fun... the afore mentioned Lion Brand microsoft and fun fur.
The texture and softness are absolutely perfect. But even though I had a big head with big hair, I didn't understand how the model in the download managed to get her ears covered etc. etc.
You know how? Because Chenille has 20 more yards of yarn per skein than Fun Fur. Duh!

But... I'm happy with my wild and crazy watch cap version, especially for around the house. It keeps the ceiling fan drafts away! That was my primary complaint. If I decide to switch to hats in public, I could wear these under a Felted Fiber Trends bowler... Though the idea of that many layers on my head when it is still averaging 99 degrees in the shade doesn't excite me. At least the wig is ventilated.

Hubby also said I might be able to get away with yarmulkas. I might also look into snazzy basebal caps.
This tiger hat is more the image I'm trying to cultivate... although there are others available that might be fun!

ps. could you knit one in a rainbow like a clown wig? And not tell DH? And then just be wearing it one day when he came home? Or maybe like Bozo? :)

The hat looks adorable! Could be worse--some people have real hair like that.

Hi SPW, for Illustration Friday's theme, reflection, I was inspired by your delightful knitted hat. I hope that it was OK that I put on my picture this week that it is for you.
Very Best Regards, Jacque Davis
