WEEKEND UPDATE
DS and GF left this morning at 8 am to drive 14+ hours back to college. They managed to call us in 13 hours to say they safely in spite of having stayed up til 3 am finishing the 1000+ piece A. Macke/Sunny Path Ravensburger jigsaw puzzle we all worked on.
Their efforts were not wasted as I used waxed paper and pancake turners to put it back in the box so they can glue it and hang it.

Since I, too had been sleep deprived, I went back to bed after making a breakfast care package of Sourcream Cake (courtesy of the Dinner Doctor) and seeing them off.
Sometime after noon, DH and I went and bought birch wood panels for him to begin construction of the many drawers for our stereo cabinet. We then went to Borders for our book fix. I probably sat for 45 minutes in my own little corner of heaven.

They've rearranged all of the shelves, enlarged the aisles, and probably decreased the number of titles. But there was still great stuff on the knitting shelf! I must be feeling better, because Kaffe Fassett's patterns actually looked doable today.
I want to experiment with some fair isle or many colored intarsia!!

Inspired, I finally finished one of the WIP's that was taking up room in my stash storage. It is an acrylic baby blanket... approximately 25"x25". My daughter had acryllic baby blankets and I always found them to be worthy adversaries of the washing machine, baby stains and any other kind of hard wear you could think of. I have two more huge skeins, and will make another blanket, but in a lacy repeat pattern or with over-the-edge edging. Say what you will, I thought the stitch definition in this was very attractive considering how soft it is to the touch.

It looks very soft and huggable. Very bright and happy.

That's a beautiful blanket. Lucky mom and child who get to have it in their bedrooms.

Keep strong!
