Illustration Friday: Tranquilty in Texas

My first thought was a pool of lovely, clear water... as that is what I HOPE to discover if I want tranquilty. But the long, hot, sometimes humid days of summer are still. Flies and cow's tails can be the only things that move as far as the eye can see. There's a farm in the middle of the suburbs here... and if one removed the subdivisions, it would look somewhat like this.

Drawn in Photoshop (with a mouse...) using more layers than ever before.... to get the sky the right color... probably 12 washes.

I did another image which you can find here.

great gradient you've created, looks just like the white hot sun is beating down on those poor cows!
cheers,

you have succeeded with the clouds and sky but the cows are a little bit blurred and yet, if you are looking at it in an arial view, it would be something like that!

I must learn how to switch various elements (or layers) so they don't get coverd and blurred. Of course, if I really UNDERSTOOD longhorns/cows etc., I might have painted them better! Don't have to worry about whether there's room for improvement.
