Frogging, Knitting, Drawing, Musing

I wasn't happy with the previous incarnation of the seville and spice shawl... So I went a froggin. I began with 12 stitches, CO 1 at the beginning of each row until I had 10 additional stitches, and then I began a Sl1, K4, YO border, knitting to the end of the row with a P1 for the last stitch. I like it loose much better. I'll probabbly but tassels on the bottom to help it drape.

Close up. (The colors are more brilliant this. If I remember, I'll take another photograph outside in natural light.

Drawing of the Day
( just before midnight.)

This is a contour drawing (I hope it still "counts" if I peeked pretty regularly!!) of a container of kitchen tools. I am pleased that each tool is recognizeable and that the three tangled tongs "work." The container itself could have used more discipline... but I did it straight off with a Uni-ball pen so that I wouldn't get all dependent on an eraser.

When I got home from the office, DH had cleaned the garage and washed its floor. Puppycat has decided that the crack between the sofa pillows is hers. She didn't get up when I came home, but she did give me a disdainful look.

" Did you have to wake me up?"

"Guess I'll wash my feet."

Different angle, same foot.

On Tuesday I'll go get a second opinion about "Thelma's" chemo/radiation and hormone therapy. The MD that my surgeon recommended is couldn't see me for 3 weeks, which is TOO long to wait to start, if I'm going to go through with it. I'm seeing that guy's partner for the second opinion.

What a shame that there are THAT many people having to cope with cancer. I wonder if it has to do with how we eat, global warming, or what.... Personally, I think a lot of it is nutrition. I am still weaning myself from sugars, refined flours, booze and chocolate.. but I am going to get slender AND healthy.

Tomorrow DH and I are going to the recommended wig shop. (No, the blue bob below isn't what I decided on... It was just me having a drama queen moment.)

A young woman I know is probably being confronted with Child Protective Service this evening. Her case investigator just got a police report across her desk from two months ago (!) and called me... I hoped they could go to parenting classes, budget training, use some day care or mother's day out and a number of other things... But apparently the young woman put lots of threats, drama and admissions of non-compliance with prior CPS directives on her blog... so now her children will go elsewhere, at least for a while. Sometimes "trying" to become a better parent isn't good enough for children.

Check out my Books Read Section... I finally added some non-fiction.
