I am quite fascinated with these expressionistic abstracts on 12 x 12 canvases. It is a challenge NOT to make recognizeable shapes (such as stars, squares, circles)... but to juggle swashes and swaths that have shape, and contrast. It is also a great excuse to mix wonderful colors. Special thanks to Ralph from the painting studio who mixed too much of the "wrong" blues for his painting, who let me smear these on my fresh canvas.

Those wrong blues made for a pretty great right, and I'm not overly fond of blue. Nice job, as usual!
