New Year's Eve Eve

I've been wanting to get a good long journal entry going, full of Resolutions and Plans and S.m.a.r.t. goals, but today wasn't the day. I think my avoidance may be related to having overly large achievements in mind. Not to mention that I have not made a fair assessment of the degree to which I met and failed to meet LAST year's goals.

What did happen was that I got my Address Files updated and corrected, Christmas card notes written as well as two long overdue letters.
I checked in with both adult children. They're back in their own territories and seemed more relaxed.
I ventured into the innards of my Flickr account and made some adjustments so that it now links to Ravelry. (I haven't knit gazillions of projects, but I want to show of the ones I've finished!)
And, with persistence and determination, I got my new iPodNano up and running.

I did that while DH watched the Cowboys lose.
Previously we had taken a walk around the square in McKinney.
I
"kinneared" ** some photographs that might turn into paintings, or crafts, or something.

If this actually goes for the price it was marked, I need to buy stock in framing tools and get busy!

There were several sheep like this one (pointed out to me by another browser after I confessed to my sheep fetish.) I think it may be core batting, with woody sticks for legs and fuzzy suede heads.

I think if Santa wore a glittery turquoise ensemble, everyone would know he was out of the closet.

This store had lots of bird "stuff." I wouldn't think of having dyed faux birds as the sole ornamentation on a tree... but these were show stoppers.

The awnings on this building have recently been replaced, and there's a new restaurant. I always admire people who aren't afraid of strong color.

**kinnear v.
To take a candid photograph surreptitiously, especially by holding the camera low and out of the line of sight. Coined in August by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee of the
Yarn Harlot blog when she attempted to take a photograph during an encounter with the actor Greg Kinnear at an airport.
