Highs and Lows
Nope, this isn't some great architectural monument. It is a 24 hour old repair job on our chimney. Yesterday there was a hole in the upper right hand corner through which multitudinous, multifarious squirrels were passing. We hired a roofing company, who sent their intrepid, heat tolerant carpenter to fix it. For a few hours all looked well. Regrettably, the squirrel(s) are already down to BARE WOOD. On the corners, at the base of the chimney, AND at the same "loft level" entry they preferred before.

NOTICE TO SQUIRRELS:

STOP EATING OUR HOUSE.

You may have heard about rains in Texas. This popped up in an "empty" planter. If you know what it is, please tell me. I'm looking at the trios of leaves and wondering if POISON IVY has had the nerve of growing in a POT. hmph.
I happened to have camera in hand when the cat was staring at me through the kitchen blinds.

A WIP!

HOORAY!!!

Here is my garter stitch ruffled ITCHY SCRATCHY scarf. It will definitely be "ornamental" rather than soothing or warm.

I went to my first life drawing class last night.

I had plenty of anxieties before hand.

But the instructor is relaxed and helpful. And while many of my drawings didn't capture an accurate essence of our wonderful model, every once in a while there would be some curve or some line that "worked." You can see more at Flickr by clicking on the image.

I think I can say with some confidence that the volunteer in your pot is NOT poison ivy. Not unless Texas has a variety with leaves edged like those. They almost look like strawberries.

Congrats on the drawing class! I was incredibly intimidated when I went. I think your drawing shows some good promise.

Sorry about the squirrels!

Those kind of look like strawberry plants but don't quote me on that.

Good news is that no, it's not poison ivy.

What it is? I dunno. My first thougth was ninotchka's and strawberries....but it's very hard to grow strawberries from seeds....

What had you grown in the pot before?
