Another six months
Cancer free. Or so they tell me. I hardly enjoy the mamography process but afterwards I experienced tears of relief. That I didn't have to go in for another 6 months, and, more importantly, that the pathologist found no evidence of abnormal cell structure in the readout.

Get yourself checked regularly. The technician said that a contributing factor to Elizabeth Edwards' Stage IV diagnosis was that she had neglected to get the recommended 6 month check ups for two years. If they GET all the cancer the first time, then reoccurance could happen ANY time. But if they MISS some, the recurrence is much more likely to happen within the first five years. And the sooner you find it, the smaller it is, the less distance it has traveled, and the more likely that medical treatment can stop it in its tracks.

Excellent re: cancer free! And thanks for the kick in the ass - we just moved to a new city and I haven't found a doctor yet. But I'm gonna get on that right now. NOW!

What great news! I can imagine that it must be scary getting the checkups, but as you say, they are worth it. I'm happy for you, and I send you my good vibes for continued health!

I haven't visited in ages, (probably because I haven't participated in Illustration Friday for some time now) but how wonderful to see this post. I am so so happy for you
