It is a common enough case, that of a man being suddenly captivated by a woman nearly the opposite of his ideal. George Eliot
The great renewal of the world will perhaps consist in this, that man and maid, freed of all false feelings and reluctances, will seek each other not as opposites, but as brother and sister, as neighbors, and will come together as human beings. Rainer Maria Rilke
All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites. Marc Chagall

I really enjoyed your latter piece with the sun and moon. You've got a really expressive style that has an abundance of energy.
I really like the sun and moon, as well. :)
Both pieces are very expressive, but my favorite is the bottom one. I love the interlocking foprmat of the sun and the moon, and I love the strength of the lines and colors. Wonderful!
I'm a sucker for bold color and expressive lines... love them both!!!
I like the sun and moon too. It seems to have more "flow" to it, and more energy.
And re your happiness post,
Sometimes happiness sneaks up on you, and sometimes it dumps on your head.
Thankyou for your help in getting me through my sadness.
I love the Marc Chagall quote. Of the two illos, I prefer the second one. It has more energy than the first one and expresses more of the yin/yang kind of duality of opposites. Great illo.
The courage vs. conformity line... who said that? Very true. Really like the lines you've used on the moon/sun illustration. And the colors. Beautiful.
