At first when I read my email messages this morning, I ignored the flyer from my favorite LYS. Then a friend emailed and said SHE might go. So I re-read the flyer. 40% off of everything in the store.
Well, THAT made a difference.
I spent three hours...managed to escape for under $200.
This "Soft" acrylic will be a Surprise Baby Jacket for one of two debuts to be made soon in my social circle.
I also found buttons just the size of single Lego blocks. I got green. Gender Neutral, don't you think? I haven't been buying so many novelty yarns recently, but it occured to me that Christmas is probably less than 150 days away. My Mother in Law has a fondness for lavender... and I think any two of these would combine to make a fun scarf for her.
Here's another colorway in the same ladder & slub fiber. I think it'll make a good carry-alone with the super soft Dream Baby. The copper color contrasts nicely with a very deep forest green.
And this superfine silk/merino (630 yards in each of these tiny balls!!) will become a lacy shawl. Heirloom I hope. How fortunate that the last to issues of Interweave Knits had Lace Lessons!
This orange wool which you'd THINK would have as much yardage as the above, is actually SOCK yarn. I am hoping to be able to bestow the gift of HAPPY FEET on somebody... or maybe somebody who is loyal to Texas ORANGE. This is raspberry Cascade Tweed. Probably to be felted into a hat for someone in COLD WEATHER territory!
Given the acquisition of various ills, aches and pains, any arthritis, carpal tunnel or repetitive motion injury prevantatives you know of would be most welcome.
I suppose I'll still need to actually work at my day job, too.
* Stash acquisition beyond life expectancy.

This is just amazing - I am still trying to not buy yarn for the rest of the year... hah, right!?
I love the wide variety of colors you found!
A shot of good tequila for the ache, and dark sunglasses indoors for the blinding colors...
Loved this celebration of yarn -- there was a store in Jerome, Arizona I saw when visiting my parents that was full from bottom to top with amazing fibers. Thank goodness I don't knit, I would have made even more a fool of myself for color than usual.
