It has been 10 days since I had any business meetings. I have not been out of town. I didn't compete with the neighbors OR the Griswolds in the suburban Christmas Decorating sweepstakes.
I did not compete with Central Market, Eatzi's or Modern Pastry in the baking department. Mostly DH and I stayed up late, watched TV, went to Borders for mocha's and new books and read and met with friends and napped and read and met with friends a little more.I'm ready to get back to "real life."
My so-called plans for the new year are gargantuan, and I AM trying to whittle them down to manageable proportions, but I am ready to tackle at least some of them some of the time.
DH wants us to live long and comfortably into our golden years, so we are both devising personal plans to improve health, stamina, blood sugar numbers, etc. I don't know if we'll overcome three or more decades of indulgent living in three months... actually, I'm quite sure we won't!! but I also think we can make a big change in direction and feel good about that. Besides, I just found out that my favorite Fat Clothes Store (August Max) is going completely out of business.
When I firm up it's going to be 100% Chico's and Coldwater Creek! Notice that those are mostly "resort" style clothes. I want to live like I'm at a resort all the time. Which means I need to get my business revved up to support that lifestyle.

Prayers and candlelight vigils are welcome.
For today, I can live in the moment, engage my creativity with hope and optimism and relax knowing that this moment is perfect the way it is.
DH's socks have started gloriously.

And I'm thinking about how to make this into an interesting painterly image. Can you imagine a current contractor ordering all those brick work arches?
