There was minimal knitting for Christmas gifts this year.

I just didn't want to add any pressure. Clearly, I must get back in training, and soon, or I won't get the things done that I want to do before my time on this planet is over. But this Christmas just wasn't the time to go into a Harlot-like frenzy of knitting. One of the things I learned from cancer recovery was to live in THIS moment, even if it means taking a nap or talking to friends, rather than wearing myself out so that LATER I might have what I want.

I did, however, finally knit up the surprisingly soft and wonderful chenille that a friend sent me from Florida. This is two skeins worth and it's about 8 feet long! The stitch is Garter Rib. It has a definite right and wrong side, but both are soft and

pleasing. It will be staying in the house. DH seems to want it... Think I should let him have it? Yeah, I think so, too. He keeps asking who it's for. Haven't told him. Hope he doesn't read this before tomorrow!

Merry Christmas, Mama! I have to admit, I squeezed the packages you sent to see if maybe that scarf was in one...DH will love it! :)

Well I happen to think you've got a good 40 years or so to go before you shuffle off this mortal coil. Plenty of time to live in the moment AND get things done. :-)

Lovely knitting project! I can tell from here how soft it is.
