Our Day Trip to Farmersville
In spite of gasoline prices we decided to get out of the bustling suburbs and meander to the ex-urbs... Farmersville is North East of Dallas by a pret' f'r piece. They've fixed up a few of the building, but many are still hoping for a new owner. Lots of antique mall-co-ops, a BBQ place and a Thomas Kincaid gallery (!!?) I hope it doesn't get too cute too fast.
We're in a drought. I hope this tank is full.

This is Main Street. I love how every facade is different.
This Baptist church was built in 1900. It has a "pressed metal" roof that really shone in the sun. It looked like crimped tin foil (the unshiny side). I didn't know the Baptists wold have so much fun with the cupola cupcake look.

And then there was the Texas sky. Bigger than any place else I've been with the possible exception of Taos, N.M.

The day was so relaxed I forgot to knit.
