Cold

There is nothing like a quotation to get my mind visualizing something. It helps me find the story in the word. While the drawing tablet and Painter Essentials lends confidence I wouldn't have with actual watercolors, pastels and so forth, there are still surprises. (I even had some unexpected blooms and backwashes....)
I consider this particular image a "rough draft" but would be glad for comments and technical suggestions. At least I am pleased with it enough to think that I'll re-work it and see whether I can improve it!

And be sure to look here for some other recent attempts.

So beautiful. The colors, the mood, ..and the moon.
When it is full like this it always wakes me up! Is there meaning in that?....You say you have a Painter tryout.
Any questions will happily be answered. I think the program is largely intuitive, however to master the complete program it has taken me on quite a long ride.
You have already captured a wonderful feeling with this illustration. You are a born Painter.

This ia absoluely beautiful! I love the quote, and your beautiful, evocative illsutration does it more than justice. I love what you've done with digital paint...I'm still trying to get my tablet to work properly so i can start messing around with painter IX.

it has soft peaceful effect! i am sure you are enjoying your painter IX jsut keep exploring.

about the clues in my banner that you have asked earlier in my blog, I started with it, when i encountered the post of Paige(eyes wide apart)about her banner and then later on julie answered some questions for me(julie's pictures). I am not an expert but i can share with you what i did. if you will try it, save your template first in word for back up and don't forget to preview your changes before publishing. Never publish if you are not sure you can see it. the size of my banner is 649 x 149, publish it first in flickr and then copy the large size and paste them in your template---- i will e-mail the template location because it is not allowed here.

here's wishing you good luck and have a nice day!

Soft and sweet. For just 'messing around' with the tools, you did a wonderful job!

this turned out really nice. the loose style works well with the whole composition.

First, the illustration is beautifully done. Second, you must know what a sucker I am for quotes like this one. It makes it all that much more special for me. :)

love the fluidness of this and the intense light falling on the window sill and the gentle light falling on the blanket. Wow, this is wonderful
