A bit about Chemo and Knitting

Fourth and none. Or First and Goal.
Chemo treatments to go, that is. I had my last one this morning. Will go get the Neulasta shot tomorrow and then drag myself around while my red and white blood cell counts recuperate.
Needless to say, things are looking a little brighter!

The MD was alarmed at my quiet complaint of pain in the infusion arm... so DH and I got to wait for hours to get an ultrasound at the hospital next door. The tech didn't find any blockages, phlebitis or blood clots... so that's a good thing. "Use a heating pad and take Advil two at a time" was the recommendation. I can imagine that putting three or four kinds of poison through a vein might aggravate it some.

I think that I'll see if I can perfect the Arrowhead Lace Stitch this weekend and begin a baby blanket. I'm feeling good enough to think I can concentrate...
There's a great photograph of the pattern from 365 knitting stitches a year at November 3 I like that the pattern is lacy but angular... Makes is more appropriate for baby blankets, I think.... the joys of androgenous knitting!

My practice swatch has been kidnapped by the cat... so you can see a picture of it here from Timothy at "/(p[eu]rls of wisdom)?/" (see sidebar). He asked me not to copy it here... but do check out the link. He's been working on an astonishing collection of squares to make into a gargantuan afghan. His site also has lots of neat techiebells and whistles.

If any of you have recommendations about the Heart Sachet (modular) pattern from June's Interweave Knits please clue me in. I posted at Knitty.com's forum, and even emailed the pattern writer but no replies to date. (I don't understand how to make the modules weave together.... and if you're going to stuff a sachet with itsy bitsy lavender flowers, you don't want big holes for them to fall out of... (I suppose I could line it with cheese cloth.. BUT THAT'S ANOTHER WHOLE STEP.)

TGIF y'all, ha hea'?

Hooray! for being done with the treatments. Big hugs, strong lady!

PS. Did you draw that picture of Dallas?!

The Dallas image was photoshopped to get the wild neon look... Probably on the edge of copyright infringement... but there's no financial gain, and since that's what Dallas looks like... I'm not too concerned!

I like the wild neon look!

Keep doing well, and 5 years from now, may all of the doctor visits be routine and unexciting.
