I've tried at this in the past and failed. Mostly this time, I want to examine something very closely... and something near enough that i can stare and stare and stare. It is important for me to do it daily. I want to get better. I want to have a group of pieces I like... even if they are quick or rough or sketches....

My daughter recognized this as MY hand.

This is a lost sheep.

I am developing several sheep characters. Perhaps they'll be able to say things to each oher some tme......It's as though they wondered if anyone would be helpful.

Crabby cat with backlighting.

maybe instead of everyday (which can be daunting, especially if you miss a day or just aren't feeling it one day) you either set a min amount of time to think about drawing or make notes, or maybe you try to have 7 drawings per week (one a day, but not that daily pressue)...
or maybe those can be back up plans. . . I love the idea of sheep characters!
ive always loved your particular art style. i think its very distinctive, and i like it.
There is a latin quote which comes to mind: "Nulla dies sine linea" which means "no day without a line". You are making a commitment to make creativity part of your daily life and therefore an extension of yourself. The hand is an excellent start.
Hi! You posted on my blog...Bedford is in Pennsylvania and the fair hasn't started yet. July 23 is the official starting day! If you're in the area, you could check it out.
By the way, I read your recent entries...hope all goes well with the chemo. It's scary but I'm glad the doctors caught it soon. Take care. :) BTW, is that you in the blue wig? Very cute, if it is!
The sheep are probably worrying that you might start knitting them.
