I've posted these in reverse order of my sketching session last night. I can see myself settling in to the creative process. Poor DH's foot (at the bottom of this entry) just didn't get the attention it deserved.
But the library shelves got pretty good attention... even if it was only a waterproof roller ball pen. I vaguely remembered an exercise from Betty Edwards or somewhere and tried to just draw what I could see. It felt so WRONG to draw some of these angles.. but, by golly, they do fit together pretty well. And I was amused to let the image expand past my self-imposed "frame.
I posed a toy bear on the coffee table. He doesn't look fuzzy, but I did manage to get him to look "round." Doesn't he look iniebriated?
He's rather posable... This was supposed to just be reclining... but he took on a kind of "pin-up" aura... so I gave him a background. I think if he'd gone to Sears for a portrait, he might have picked bamboo for his background... I wonder if Panda's would select jungles...
I am not especially pleased with the foot below. The real life foot is fine... as good as feet get, if you know what I mean! I was probably distracted by DH's channel surfing, a program about transgendered athletes, and/or CSI. His feet were crossed and he was resting a paper plate on one... I'd never noticed the zig zag blue veins before... or the gap between #4 and #5 toes!
