GOOD NEWS

Good news

Here's the basic update.

1. No second surgery required! Everybody agreed the "margin" allowance was big enough.
2. Oncologist now has my name & number to set up an appointment. Surgeon didn't have reports back (yet) which would help determine need for chemo, or "hormone therapy" (which is apparently actually used in lieu of a more broadly targeted chemo-- if I understand right it is like the difference between using pre-emergent weed killer and Round Up... :-D ) There is an outside chance that they would recommend neither depending on if the tumor was hormone receptive or not. Don't ask me to explain more than right now, because I don't quite understand.

3. Radiologist also now has my name & number to set up an appointment.

4. Radiology shouldn't start for a minimum of 4 weeks after surgery in order to allow adequate healing of incision.
5. Chemo (either type, etc.) can wait a bit... SO.... I may go back to Boston with DH next week (since he has to go) for more R&R and quality time with DD... if she isn't gallivanting somewhere before she starts her first post-MBA job!!

And that's the news!!
