Have you ever seen a mermaid climb?
These fragrant climbing roses at
my kitchen windows are "mermaid".

A tiger lily resurrected itself from many Easters ago.
I believe it has siblings that are going to bloom soon as well.
What a brilliant and joyful surprise this afternoon.

This planter, full of hummus and dirt has seemed uneventful until just this week. The coleus ARE going to grow from seed. The just aren't quite growint at the rate i hd imagined. If it stops rainintg, i'll re=distribute them a bit to give them more room.

This is what a blooming onion looks like.
No calories compared to an Awesome Blossom!

The onions themselves have gotten too big for their plot. I bought these as small "green onion sets" a couple of months ago and thought I had planted them with enough space and depth. they are morphing into giant leeks!! The bulbs are bursing out of the ground. I may have to start making French Onion Soup or something. At least I haven't seen any more rabbits in the ranunculas.
there are oriental poppies that are thriving near by, as well, although some of those look "miffed" because they are so crowded. this weekend may be a day to till in the yard and do some re-spacing.
