The Fiction Shelf

Night Swimming by Robin Schwartz. Charlotte is told she only has a year to live and decides to stop wasting her life. Wish-fullfillment and an empowering example for any woman who feels or has felt "stuck."100%

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. Of course! All bazillion pages. She really knows how to get you to the high dramatic climax... and there are more cool spells... and an overarching theme which I HOPE will calm the worried spirits of her religious anti-fans. 100%

The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd. 100% A woman struggles at midlife.... a mother who is unpredictable and in failing health, a marriage which seems worn out.

Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. Ms. Blum, who worked for Stephen Spielberg's Shoah foundation has woven a fictional tale of a young woman living in Germany during the Holocaust and how her experiences effected her and her infant daughter. Rarely are people as good or as bad as they seem.
