Blogger's been having Issues.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr. That is TRUE. So I had to accept it.

Other than that, my day was so uneventful that the most exciting thing was the arrival of the John Scheepers.Inc catalog, Beauty from Bulbs: Fall 2006. It might help me get over my Poison Ivy paranoia. And I'd love to have these giana white Alliums in my yard next spring. It's like having bionic (or at least botanical) fireworks in the garden.

Their warehouse or homebase in the US is in Litchfield Connecticut. I'll put it on my lit of places to visit when I'm up East net time.

A discovery of a different type today is The Work as envisioned by Byron Katie. Apparently she has somewhat of a cult following. That may not be fair. The publicity and stories about The Work are adulatory and not particularly critical.

Nevertheless, I listened to a teleconference based on her way(s) of dealing with people who have "problems" and think it would be helpful if I asked myself these questions more often. (Not to mention asking them to children, friends, loved ones and/or clients.

The work consists of:

Four Questions
  1. Is it true?
  2. Can you absolutely know that it's true?
  3. How do you react when you believe that thought?
  4. Who would you be without the thought?
what happens if you turn it around?

Imagine if our so-called political and military leaders pondered things in the light of these questions. Wouldn't there be fewer damaging assumptions? wouldn't there be better (and more prolific) alternatives to killing, torturing and lying?
