GREAT weekend (and more yet to come!!)
I thought there was an artist's opening last night at Valley House Gallery.

Turns out I was a day ahead of myself, but owner Kevin Vogel was adding final touches and enthusiastically invited us in anyway.
WHAT a way to see an exhibit! With nobody else! (Granted, the wine and cheese hadn't arrived, but we didn't need that anyway! We didn't go back tonight (Saturday) to meet the artist, Ron A. Cheek, but I'll probably go back next week to check out the prices!

This is the one we can imagine over the fire place. It's about 48 inches by 60.
Then we went to Artists Showplace and saw an exhibit by members of Kaligrafos, the Dallas Calligraphy Guild. It brought back fond memories of my own years with the guild, and I recognized and talked to two friends from way back.
I was particularly taken by these two pieces which are from the Kaligrafox web page gallery.

I've only been to Dallas, on business, once! It sounds like a delightful art city. I'm glad you had an art-filled weekend. That's the kind of thing that always makes me happy. What I did with my creativity this weekend was make my house look like a showplace for an open house. Nobody came. Sigh. You can bet I'll be back painting tomorrow!
That is a beautiful painting...yes, you should get it for the fireplace. Calligraphy fascinates me but I've never done it.
