IF - Save
In my hometown, there was a barely zoned down town area with flop houses, churches, markets and bars jumbled together. I remember joking about the juxtaposition of Jesus Saves/ Green Stamps. I think my folks felt the toasters, golf bags and ping pong table they got from saving Green Stamps were terrific because they didn't cost anything.

Hello there!
I really am intrigued by the effect you achieve in this painting, it almost looks like a photoshop filter was used on it. Its a lovely thing and very well executed. We have a saying over here concerning the son of god: "Jesus saves! ...but Moses scores on the rebound." Well done.
Neil, you are right... I used a filter on this to intensify and smear the colors a bit. Paint daubs with the dark rough brush. Good eye!
The photoshop effects are great! I also really like the colors and the humopr in the juxtaposition of the Jesus Saves and the green stamps. This is a great choice for the topic!
What kind of stamps did we used to get in cigarette packs? Were those green stamps? I got my first electric coffee pot with Old Gold cupons! sure glad I quit back in 1989. :) They have sure gotten expensive and smokers are now treated like murderers--hehe!
