Two and a half hours is a long documentary. But Michael Kirk's compilation of interviews, video clips of the President and cabinet members is absorbing, illuminating, infuriating and essential. You can watch it on line at www.pbs.org. The second half of the program will be aired tomorrow, Tuesday, March 25.
Colin Powell's credibility is still intact with me.
Cheney and Rumsfeld's hubris cannot be underestimated. Bush doesn't look evil or stupid so much as way out of his depth. The longer he is out of his depth and flailing around, the deeper the quagmire for all of us. As President, he is at the center. And the center seems not to hold.
"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world..." -
William Butler Yeats, "The Second Coming"

God, this whole period is going to go down as the "Flailing around in the mud" era.
