Felt like Spring Fever
I spent several hours in front of the easel this afternoon and finished some 6 x 8 canvases. I'm most pleased with these two (there are more at Flickr.)
Here's Queen Pooh Bah (also known as Puppy) sitting on one of the living room chairs.
And here's a bunch of tulips from the grocery store photographed a month ago. I'm not sure how to make the painted ones look as glossy as the photograph, but overall, I liked the variations in the colors of the petals and the feeling of movement in the shapes and background.Comments and suggestions welcome.

Thanks so much for the lovely comment! I'm very glad that it brought me to your blog! I must say that I like the textural effects you are able to achieve with the way you paint. The pink chair has a great tactile quality to it. Great job!
On making your tulips look glossy-you have already used highlight and shadow, so I would suggest that you might simply use a gloss medium and varnish over your painting. Realist painters might have other suggestions. Look up M.Collier. She seems to be able to achieve that. (I'm an Expressionist.)
I saw your listing on the Sketch Crawl list and wondered where you are and if you participated yesterday. We tried it here in Bryan/College Station yesterday for the first time. That was really nice to do!
Enjoyed looking at your blog. The cat named Puppy is so cute!
