Sketches
Sometimes when I want to draw or sketch there isn't much that catches my eye. Like when I'm sitting in the same chair I sit in EVERY evening. So I add the challenge of not looking at the paper. There is something liberating about blind contour drawings. I'm sure you can find the soda bottles in this, but do you see the book, too?

There was some excitement at Borders on Sunday. We were browsing our future purchases when a patron asked the barrista asked the actual address of the store because she'd "called for an ambulance." The EMT's arrived momentarily and had an incomprehensible conversation with a very old, very frail woman who had collapsed on a chair in the corner. She ululated some, moaned some, and spoke some syllables that sounded more like Italian than Spanish (which is prevalent here. She was obviously not doing very well. This little girl ran to the window as the ambulance pulled away, obviously concerned and curious. She was only about 9 and didn't stand there long. I've not practiced gesture drawings, but this captured a bit of her curious spirit.

These were drawn from an old issue of Bazaar Magazine. I do not see how women can walk in them, or why they would pay some of the prices. Lindsay Lohan modeled a pair that were $550. Makes me understand a little bit why needs to medicate. You ought to be able to get someone to carry you for that sort of money, and then you wouldn't need shoes at all.

Nice shoe depictions. I like all the colors. I also agree with you. Why do folks put their feet through such pain?
