I didn't realize I'd been worrying about when and how to decorate for Christmas. But after a consult with a coach/colleague I divided the house into "stations" so I could do just a little at a time. Station #1: the mantle. DH was kind enough to remove the painting that usually hangs here. I did some quick repair to last year's star with a glue gun, and we are beginning to be in business. I think I'm going to mass candles on the mantle. Although if the cat persists, it's not likely we'll light them. Rather than garland, I think I'm going to look for some very wide rose wire ribbon to ruffle and wind around the candles. This might make the fire engine red stocking hangers problematic... but since when was MY house ever anything but eclectic?
