HO HO HO
Holiday Meme

(If you don't "do" Christmas, please feel free to adjust this you please!!)

I saw it
here. Teabird got it from some place else. She's a knitter and librarian, so visit AFTER you swipe this and let me know where you posted it!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Egg nog if both are available. but I'm a sucker for Peppermint Mocha, too!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree? Wrapped-- to prolong the fun.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Yes.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No. But I'll smooch my honey any time.

5. When do you put up your decorations? Before the kids come home, but after Thanksgiving.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Sorry, it has to be dessert.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Hmmm, I seem to be remembering the un-favorites. Ah-ha: going to "work" with my father. His secretary would entertain me, which usually included lunch at a lunch counter, and then Dad and I would shop for my mom. We always went someplace really fancy and neat for dinner. (You'd be surprised how many of those tall office buildings in Los Angeles had top floor restaurants.)

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't remember the switch from not knowing to knowing. The cards from Santa ALWAYS had Dad's handwriting!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Oh yes, definitely!

10. What kind of decorations are on your Christmas Tree? Hodge podge over the years: lights, garland, blown glass.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread? Love it. It's rare in Texas.

12. Can you ice skate? As a child I could. Haven't been in 20 years. Don't imagine it would be pretty!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Too many to recall: I liked some geometric rubber stamps with many ink pads and a HUGE newsprint tablet. I stamped whole cities and circuses.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Cookies! and family. Not always in that order.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Pizzelles or Pignole or anything chocolate.
16 What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas Eve services... I go with my daughter now.

17. What tops your tree? Corn husk angel from a long time librarian friend.

18. What is your favourite holiday book? How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Star Mother's Youngest Child (which hardly anyone has ever heard of, but makes me cry every time!) 6 stars!

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? It's a tie between "In the Bleak MidWinter" (Gustav Holst really knows how to do harmony) and The Roches' Star of Wonder from We Three Kings

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yummy? I can take'em or leave 'em.
PW's additional inquiries:
21. If you could give someone in your family one gift what would it be? I'd give DH a winning lotto ticket that would allow him (and me!!) to retire. NOW.
22. A friend? TSH would get a cure for her cancer.
23. A group? Insights and peace for those in the middle East

The Roches!! My husband and I have seen them in concert three times. Last year they got back together, and we saw the second concert of the reunion. They were a little ragged, but still wonderful - and they sang my favorite carol, "Good King Wenceslaus."

Thanks for the mention --
