Yesterday was the prettiest day at home that I can remember. Bright sunshine, clear and breezy without humidity or heat. This is what I saw when I opened the front door. Sun past the shade.

I don't know the people who live here. I think they are Asian. I like the Japanese style lantern and the cement Loch Ness Monsters that are serving as border in front of the Hydrangeas.

This house is for sale. I saw three or four for sale signs within a 4 block range. It's not as bad as two years ago when the Telecom industry was having such a hard time.

The reddish tree/shrub is a Smoke Tree. I love the way it looks close up!
When you are walking the hills are steeper than
they appear!

This house seems more Southern Traditional than than most Texas "Mc Mansions." The magnolia tree is new.
Here's a hill. It certainly isn't like Indiana, or California, or Massachusetts. Just the same, it feels pretty steep when you are actually walking. You'd never notice it when driving... but I noticed it. I'm hoping I'll notice them less as I walk more.
Several homes had flagpoles. Sometimes there is just a U.S. flag. Sometimes, it is just the Texas/Lone Star flag. This one is the Stars and Stripes and a U.S. Army flag.
I understand that in the UK there is a cloud appreciation society, and that the cloud of the month is Cirrus. Here's an image of one in the huge Texas sky.

When I got to our garden, there were lots of new things in bloom. The purple Calendulas above. Next to mounds of parself and cilantro. There's cilantro, parsley and rosemary, too.
The Clematis is still climbing. I'm not positive what it needs to have more, bigger blooms.!! Fertilizer, maybe? This climbing rose below(Mermaid) is taking over the kitchen window. It has vicious thorns. When the wind blows you can "hear" it clawing its way through. Tomorrow I'll get out the mini-chainsaw.

The Hollyhocks are going gangbusters. They seem to be different colors this year. Last year I had pink and burgundy. This year I've got deep pink and yellow. Also popping up are some bulbs that I had completely forgotten about. . There's foliage for four o'clocks, too. I used to know how to dismantle their blossoms and suck the nectar. I was MUCH younger then.

This definitely looked like Home Sweet Home when I returned.
Here's an unknown lily that I'd love to have identified. Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the lilly. Can you post a picture of the open flower? Otherwise, it looks like a day lilly.
