WHERE I'M FROM

I am from books everywhere, from Celestial Seasonings and Hellmann's Mayo.
I am from the mini McMansion coziness.
I am from the Stargazers, the rocks and gullies
I am from wishing on candles and denial , from Elbert and Trudy, Hazenbush and Smith.
I am from the expectant and despairing.
From "you can do anything if you wish hard enough" and "you disappointed us."
I am from Christian Science, real Science, rituals and chant.
I'm from California, Denmark, grilled cheese and bourbon.
From the time the bassett hound ate the Christmas ornaments, Dad made enamelled jewelry, the acceptance of outsiders at Thanksgiving, and the tightly laced corset of my grandmother.
I am from scrapbooks and cartons, shoeboxes and journals hiding treasures and tricks, scandals and sunshine.

I found a reference to a "Where I'm from" Template on Wender's blog.
It is based on a poem by George Ella Ryons here.
