Turning the Corner x Two

Corner No. 1:

I turned the corner on the Clapotis! Wheeee!

It is so strange to be knitting "straight" but have it turn out to be on the bias... sort of... Not the EXACT bias, because then my shawl would have been a square... which isn't how it turns out, right? And now when it is time to drop lines of stitches, it's two at once. Oops, that might be a "plot" development that should have been kept secret. Of course if I were a PRUDENT knitter, I'd have read the whole pattern through about a zillion times in advance and spoiled my own surprise.

I never do that.

Of course with M. Zimmerman's patterns, even if you read them through, you can't always imagine how you're going to end up with the finished product.

I trust that I'll figure things out in time. So far, I always have.

Corner No. 2:

Even though new poison ivy "dots" are showing up in line with the old dots and yuckiness, the old AND the new ones are much much smaller than what was there Tuesday. Thank you Claritin for helping with the itch, and Cortisone Extraordinaire (not the actual name) for reducing the oozey creepiness.

THANK GOD you said that about dropping two stitches at once -- I am on row 10 of the first round of decreases AND MISSED THAT! So now I only have to frog two rows rather than an entire twelve. Whew. Thanks, MOOMS. :) I'm hoping to finish this weekend...

The rule of "thumb" around here is: Leaves of three, let it BE.

This isn't a completely accurate rule, but has helped me. If I'm not SURE what it is and it has a triparate leaf, with or without the reddish stem or dot, or serrated edges, I do not touch.

Hope you're feeling better soon.
