Hello,
I don't knit - so no knitting olympics for me. I crochet. I love it - easier to rip out if you make a mistake. With knitting - you have to "unknit" it --but you knew that already. Although, with crocheting, I've been doing it for so many years, I could crochet in my sleep and rarely make a mistake - so ripping it out isn't an issue. I guess that would be the same with knitting if I practiced long enough. Anyway. I'm rambling. What else is knew?

Here's what I have to say --I love your illustration of the thinking cat (cap). I enjoyed all the illos I viewed --but that was my favorite.

Next --I have been trying (without success) for weeks to get that Illustration Friday button to appear in my sidebar. It just keeps coming up as a red x. Very frustrating. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong --but thought that you may offer a suggestion. No reason --other than I saw you have the button in your sidebar!

Also --congratulations on the whole cancer survivor thing. I can't even imagine... Recently, I had a melanoma scare --biopsy was negative. I was a wreck for a month - waiting to get in to see the dermatologist and then waiting for the results.

Anyway...I'm rambling again.

I envy you and the time to sit and read in Borders. I used to do that - before I got married - moved to "podunkville" where all we have is a WalMart, and had a baby (who is now 3 1/2.) (By the way - I'm not complaining about the getting married and having a baby part ---just about the lack of anything but WalMart!)

Okay. I'm done commenting. And rambling....

Keep creating!

I can't imagine knitting socks! But then, I'm not knitter. I saw socks on kids at Christmastime that had been knitted by their g'ma. All I could think of was all that work for just one season of use!

Guess I have to hand it to you!

Have you see the essay about socks in Yarn Harlot's latest book? about how socks are the ultimate expression of love? And I can't believe I am on your list to knit socks for. Well, I can, but it makes me wicked happy. Your sock is at work with me again today, but I think it won't get mailed until tomorrow. :)

I'm not doing the Olympics thing, but I really need to get off my duff and finish the one sock left for my mom, since it's the ultimate expression of love and all that.

Six socks in sixteen days. I hope you get the "gold".
